NEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SWISS MARKET REGULATION OPair

For the sale of solid fuel products, as of 1 January 2008 it will be obligatory to specify on the ratings plate the compliance with the new limits indicated in annex 4 of the OAPC (Ordinance on Air Pollution Control of the Swiss).
According to this ordinance, the limits of CO and dusts, depending on the products, must comply with the established values, which are:

Wood log and coal fired heating stove with manual loading
1 January 2008 CO: Powders: 800 mg/m3 60 mg/m3
1 January 2011 CO: 800 mg/m3 Powders:50 mg/m3

Wood splinter burning heating stove with automatic loading
1 January 2008 CO: Powders: 400 mg/m3 90 mg/m3
1 January 2011 CO: 400 mg/m3 Powders:60 mg/m3

Pellet stove with automatic loading
1 January 2008 CO: Powders: 300 mg/m3 60 mg/m3
1 January 2011 CO: 300 mg/m3 Powders:40 mg/m3

For yield, the provisions of EN standards are applicable and there are no special restrictions concerning them except for those already required for CE marking.
Also according to this ordinance, the obligation of marking will concern all products starting from 1 January 2008, including those which have already been purchased by a possible importer/distributor, and placed on the market after 31 December 2007.
